What to expect from your appointment

To create your custom orthotics, we have a 3 step process

  1. First appointment and moulding

We will initially analyse your standing gait and functional movement patterns to help detect where your dysfunctions are. We may also get you on our treadmill and look at the way you walk, run or video your movement to allow us to do a full gait analysis. If we decide that orthotics would benefit you we will use a resin slip sock to make a mould of your feet, which will be sent to the lab with your own specific prescription to make your orthotics. To make the mould of your feet you will lie on your front and relax while a warm sock is applied to your foot. As we hold your foot in a neutral position the sock will go hard. It usually takes 3-4 weeks from moulding to have your Foot Reset orthotics made.

  1. Fitting appointment

Your moulds will be sent to the laboratory to be manufactured. Once they are made and we have received them we will call you to arrange your fitting appointment. At this appointment you will need to bring the footwear we are fitting your Foot Reset orthotics to. We will check the fit between your foot and orthotics and will explain the process of slowly getting used to your orthotics.

  1. Review appointment

We will book you in for a review appointments, three to six weeks after your fitting. This is important to check the fit of your orthotics and the progress you are making with them including future management advice. Many people opt for a second pair of Foot Reset orthotics. If you choose to order a second pair, we will do this at your review appointment.

FAQs

What are Foot Reset Custom orthotics?

Foot Reset are custom orthotic devices specifically tailored to the individual’s foot anatomy and biomechanics. They are inserted into your existing footwear and are designed to help realign your foot and ankle in the most anatomically efficient position whilst moving.

How will they help me?
  • Provide support to the foot arches, helping to distribute pressure evenly and reduce strain on the feet, ankles, knees, hips and lower back.
  • Reduce pain associated with various foot conditions including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and bunions, as well as helping reduce discomfort higher up the chain in knees, hips and lower back by correcting underlying biomechanical issues.
  • Help prevent injury with the support and stability they give, decreasing the risk of overuse injuries and in turn helping enhance performance
  • Improve your wellbeing and function allowing you to move more efficiently and comfortably.
What are they good for?

Custom orthotics are designed to improve foot function, helping to address issues with both the forefoot (front) and rearfoot (back) during walking and running. Proper foot biomechanics are essential for preventing pain that can travel up the body. Some common conditions that may result from poor foot alignment include:

  • Excessive supination (high arched feet)
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Metatarsalgia (inflammation of the foot joints)
  • Achilles pain
  • Shin splints
  • Knee pain
  • Hip pain
  • Lower back pain

By correcting the way the foot moves, custom orthotics can help alleviate pain and improve overall movement efficiency.

How much do the insoles cost?

Our insoles are £350 and our Initial Consultation & Moulding is £60, totalling £410
