My Background
My interest in Physiotherapy began after receiving treatment for injuries sustained whilst representing Great Britain in Judo. After graduating from The University of the West of England, Bristol in 2005, I spent 2 years working for the NHS at Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester before joining the Royal Air Force in 2007 as a Physiotherapy Officer, serving with the military until 2023.

Qualifications & Experience
During my time in the RAF, I worked in many different locations and practices throughout the UK and abroad, treating a wide variety of patients and conditions collaboratively with consultants, surgeons, pain specialists and podiatrists and gained a vast wealth of neuromusculoskeletal, sport and occupational injury experience and knowledge. This gave me an excellent understanding of where Physiotherapy fits into a sometimes highly complex treatment and rehabilitation pathway as well as when to refer patients for scanning / specialist opinions and podiatry. I utilise every treatment option available to deliver the best care I possibly can to my patients.

I am an extremely conscientious individual who believes in providing the highest standard of care to patients and consequently look to improve my knowledge at every opportunity. As well as keeping up to date with the current research, I have completed a multitude of post graduate qualifications in: Acupuncture, Pilates (including ante and post-natal women), a postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal medicine, a postgraduate Diploma in Advancing Physiotherapy practice and a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Sports Injury Rehabilitation. My experience, alongside these qualifications, has made me a skilled clinician in a multitude of assessment techniques and treatments.

I am very passionate about not only the injury or problem presented at the clinic, but the person as a whole, addressing any predisposing factors and assisting a full recovery alongside empowering the individual to prevent reoccurrence in the long term.

As a previous international athlete, being healthy and active is very important to me and I love getting outside for a run at any opportunity.

Now a working mum of 2 toddlers, I truly understand how difficult fitting exercise into your week can be, as any time I have is spent looking after and making memories with them. I am therefore very proactive in helping patients fit this and their necessary rehabilitation and recovery into their busy lives.

My Background
I graduated from University of St. George’s with a degree in Physiotherapy in 2023 but my profound journey into the world of Physiotherapy really began five years ago, when I experienced a life-changing horse-riding accident. Throughout my intensive rehabilitation, I personally witnessed the incredible benefits of hands-on treatment and the power it had in restoring health and well-being. This transformative experience ignited a deep passion within me, driving me to make a bold decision to leave my job behind and embark on a new path as a Physiotherapist.

During my time at university, I fully embraced the opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. In addition to graduating with a degree in Physiotherapy, I dedicated myself to becoming proficient in sports massage and acupuncture. Hester Watson

My Background
I have always been very active and sporty from a young age, seeking physio advice to keep me performing at my best.

Early in my career I saw first hand how professional athletes trained, performed and recovered. I became increasingly interested in the human body anatomy, human performance and recovery and this is what inspired me to pursue an alternative career path. In 2022 I became a fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist.

I can empathise first hand both the pains from working a desk job during the day, juggling multiple jobs, but also the frustrations from sporting injuries.

Qualifications & Experience
I am a qualified Soft Tissue Sports Massage Therapist, having trained and qualified originally in a Level 5 BTEC diploma at the beginning of 2022 from the North London School of Sports Massage – the highest level of massage qualification.

Since qualifying, I have worked with clinics and multiple sporting events (mostly endurance running events) as well as continuing my studies in other areas. I’ve done courses on and qualified in Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Shockwave Therapy, Myofascial Cupping and Taping, as well as qualifying as an Oncology Massage Practitioner.

Adam Harrison

My Background
I graduated from the University of Chichester in 2013. It was my passion for science, sport and healthcare lead me down the path of becoming a Sports Therapist. Working with world class sailors to desk bound office workers means that I have had the experience of dealing with all types of injuries and I strive to keep you active and out of pain.

Qualifications & Experience
After graduating I went to work with the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing sailing team. This invaluable experience, lead me into the world of professional sport looking after world class athletes competing at the highest level. Training plans, nutrition and injury management were some of the roles and responsibilities within the team. Since then I have worked within busy private clinics treating a wide range of injuries and complaints being either sport or occupation related.

I have a particular interest in lower limb injuries and the study of biomechanics (how a person moves). I am qualified in Medical Acupuncture and the prescription of fully customised orthotics which can be important tools in the management of musculoskeletal pain. I believe that giving the correct advice and education about the mechanism of a patient’s pain is vital for self management and keeping active.

My Background
My journey to becoming a physiotherapist started when I received treatment for back pain as a Junior International rower, where the ability to assist in reducing pain and enhance performance really impressed me.

I joined the Military, having completed my Physiotherapy Degree, keen to work in a challenging environment with motivated individuals requiring high levels of performance. Although exposed to a wide range of injuries, they were predominantly occupationally related, either trauma or overuse, or as a result of training or recreational sport.

Qualifications & Experience
I graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff in 1997 with a degree in Physiotherapy. During an 18 year military career as a physiotherapist I gained considerable Musculoskeletal, Sports, Training and Occupational Injury experience including working alongside Orthopaedic Surgeons and Sports Physicians to ensure the return to pre-injury activities and reaching performance goals was achieved.

Working in a Multidisciplinary Injury Assessment Clinic alongside specialists including Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports Physicians, GP’s, Podiatrists, and Sports Therapists, has given me an excellent understanding of the rehabilitation process and all the potential pathways available. My aim is always to deliver accurate assessment, diagnosis and appropriate treatment interventions, utilising imaging, biomechanics assessment or onward referral to specialists as required.

With a vast experience of Back, Lower limb and Shoulder problems, some chronic conditions will need more in-depth assessment of movement dysfunction and muscle imbalances to get to the real cause. In developing an individualised treatment plan I utilise a variety of techniques including soft tissue manual therapies, trigger point release, Pilates, mobilisation and pain management advice.

I believe in empowering clients through imparting knowledge and gaining self-awareness and I offer strategies to resolve their condition effectively and help identify realistic lifestyle adaptations in order to manage longer term conditions.

Pia Barrass

My Background
I graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1995, and worked in inpatient orthopaedics and outpatient settings before relocating to England in 2001. Since then I’ve worked in the NHS as well as in a private hospital outpatient department where I took the role of clinical lead before moving into a private musculoskeletal clinic.

I have a huge interest in how the physical body functions and how it relates to our mental functioning. As a physiotherapist I believe it is important to assess the entire body, not only the injured area, to identify long-term solutions to mechanical problems and improve overall function and performance as well as solving the specific problems my clients present with.

Qualifications & Experience
I am qualified in the use of acupuncture as well as being trained in clinical Pilates which I use extensively in my practise.

I have also trained in the field of women’s health including the treatment of pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy using manual therapy techniques and acupuncture to good effect with these clients. During my time as a clinical lead in outpatients I had the opportunity to work closely with orthopaedic consultants in several specialities including shoulders, spinal orthopaedics and paediatric orthopaedics.

My Background
From a young age, I have always had a keen interest in injuries and the human body, driven by my own experiences as a county and southern region netball player. Through overcoming my own injuries, I came to understand the importance of high-quality assessment and treatment from professionals who not only helped me recover but also educated me on preventing future injuries, both new and recurring. This experience, combined with my passion for helping others, inspired me to pursue a career in Sports Therapy.

Qualifications & Experience
I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Therapy from the University of Chichester in 2007, and I am a fully accredited and insured member of the Society of Sports Therapists. My training covered all aspects of injury diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, from post-surgery recovery to achieving full fitness. Since graduating, I’ve gained extensive experience in a variety of settings, including the NHS, and I’ve spent over 10 years leading the medical team at Rams Rugby Club. Additionally, I’ve worked at several sports injury clinics in Hampshire, collaborating with a range of injury specialists before opening The Body Reset Clinic in 2013.

Nicola Footman

My Background
I originally developed an interest in Physiotherapy as I wanted to help people be healthier with a therapeutic approach. After graduating I worked in a variety of areas of healthcare including neurology and orthopaedics before focussing on musculoskeletal physiotherapy. In the last 25 years I have worked with many client groups including those with sports injuries, pregnancy related musculoskeletal pain, lifestyle related injuries and long term conditions, both in the UK and New Zealand. My interest in biomechanics and how the body adapts when in pain or injured has led to successfully treating many long term conditions in addition to more acute injuries.

I love the analytical aspect of physiotherapy: identifying the underlying problem, treating the symptoms and educating/retraining the body to recover fully and avoid future dysfunction. I examine the body holistically and assess how each joint interacts with each other to determine where the original problem lies in addition to treating the pain.

Qualifications and Experience
My experience as an Extended Scope Practitioner, working alongside Consultants, required me to be able to order x-rays/MRIs and determine the appropriate treatment for an individual, whether that be physiotherapy, podiatry, self-management or surgery. I am therefore able to quickly identify if physiotherapy is appropriate or whether a surgical/consultant opinion is necessary.

I am skilled in a variety of techniques including soft tissue release, manual therapy, taping, exercise prescription, postural advice and pain management education. I also have a special interest in using acupuncture as part of my physiotherapy treatment programmes and find it incredibly beneficial for clients’ symptoms. I can treat any part of the body but mostly enjoy shoulders, hips and knees. I also love treating children/ young adults over the age of 10 as they are so positive and fun to engage with!
Maintaining high standards is extremely important to me and I regularly attend postgraduate physiotherapy courses and read current research to ensure I am giving the best possible up to date care to my clients.

I love reading anything from historical fiction to personal growth books and also enjoy planning my next trip around the globe! I have two children who also keep me busy and I love to spend time with them and my husband as a family, walking in the country or visiting the beach……when we’re not driving them to their various after school activities!
