Hester Watson

Sports Massage Therapist | SRF BTEC LEVEL 5 MSMA

My Background

I have always been very active and sporty from a young age, seeking physio advice to keep me performing at my best.
Early in my career I saw first hand how professional athletes trained, performed and recovered. I became increasingly interested in the human body anatomy, human performance and recovery and this is what inspired me to pursue an alternative career path. In 2022 I became a fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist.
I can empathise first hand both the pains from working a desk job during the day, juggling multiple jobs, but also the frustrations from sporting injuries.

Qualifications & Experience

I am a qualified Soft Tissue Sports Massage Therapist, having trained and qualified originally in a Level 5 BTEC diploma at the beginning of 2022 from the North London School of Sports Massage – the highest level of massage qualification.

Since qualifying, I have worked with clinics and multiple sporting events (mostly endurance running events) as well as continuing my studies in other areas. I’ve done courses on and qualified in Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Shockwave Therapy, Myofascial Cupping and Taping, as well as qualifying as an Oncology Massage Practitioner.

Specialisms

  • Sports Massage – targeted massage techniques to reduce muscle tension and support recovery
  • Cupping – using suction therapy to improve circulation and relieve muscle tightness
  • Kinesio Taping – applying specialized tape to support muscles and joints while promoting natural movement
  • Lymphatic Drainage Massage – gentle massage to encourage lymph flow and reduce swelling
  • Oncology Massage – compassionate, tailored massage designed to support individuals undergoing cancer treatment

How I like to recharge and reset

I recharge often through running, Olympic weightlifting, and lots of walking and hiking. My perfect holiday will either include lots of mountains or a running race of some sort.

When not exercising, I enjoy good food with friends and family, but you can almost guarantee I am the first to go to bed, as I love my sleep!
